Triptorelin is mainly
used to stimulate pituitary thus decreasing
secretion of follicle stimulating hormone
(also known as FSH) and luteinizing hormone
(brief name LH). As a decapeptide it may
cause reduction of testosterone levels. This
is known as a flare effect because it
happens suddenly. This chemical compound can
be fond on the market under different names.
The most wide spread are: Gonapeptyl,
Diphereline and Decapeptyl. In the States it
is sold as Trelstar.
Triptorelin – is a research compound that belongs to decapeptide group. This peptide has the following amino acid structure: Gluetamic acid, Histidine, Tryptophan, Serine, Tyrosine, Leucine, Arginine, Prolina and Glycine. This is one of the hormones that help to release gonadotropin. Triptorelin chemical formula is C64H82N18O13. Molar mass of this chemical equals to 1311.5 g/mol.
Triptorelin is still being studied as possible medicine for estrogen-dependent diseases. It can be also used as pamoate salt or acetate. It can become potential medicine for treating prostate and breast cancer. Triptorelin could be effective to treat precocious puberty. However it will take time to study this chemical more thoroughly.
